Who Qualifies as an Eligible Health Care Provider
Pursuant to the HiTech Act, providers can retain the difference between what they receive - $65,000 or $48,000 - and what they spend to become a “meaningful user” of a certified EHR system.
For the Medicare reimbursement of up to $48,000, the term eligible professional refers only to
physicians as defined by section 1861( r) of the Social Security Act.
